One of the trending self help hashtags lately on social media has been #mindsetiseverything. Learning fast manifestation techniques on how to change mindset and attitude about a job, people, financial wellness, health, and life in general is definitely a hot topic for good reason.
If you want to know how to manifest what you want quickly in life, then the first step is to deeply commit to the development of your mindset. The fastest manifestation technique begins with mindfulness. There are super effective ways you can take control of your future, achieve your goals and live your best life. Following are 8 of the best techniques!
Carol Dweck, a Psychology Professor at Stanford University is known for her work on the psychological trait of mindset. She says that a person’s attitude is a better predictor of his or her success than their IQ.
An insightful article on TalentSmart.com explains Dweck’s findings that people’s core attitudes fall into one of two categories: a Fixed Mindset vs. a Growth Mindset.
With a fixed mindset, you believe you are who you are and you cannot change. This creates problems when you’re challenged because anything that appears to be more than you can handle is bound to make you feel hopeless and overwhelmed.
People with a growth mindset believe that they can improve with effort. They outperform those with a fixed mindset, even when they have a lower IQ, because they embrace challenges, treating them as opportunities to learn something new.
Yes this whole mindset of improving your mindset, pun intended, is definitely catching on. People are becoming increasingly aware that a poor, negative attitude can be one of the greatest obstacles to success and personal well-being. Yet, still, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in a vicious cycle of complaining.
So what are the best ways you can overcome a negative mindset and attitude about life? First, know that just researching this question speaks volumes about not only your desire to change but your level of self awareness – and that critical to learning how to change your mindset!
It’s critical to develop the right mindset and especially positive attitude if you want to have any chance at success. Begin by not allowing the heavy weight of negative self talk crush your self worth. Without a healthy, positive mindset any chance to achieve yours will be substantially diminished.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Break the Cycle – Choose the Half Full Glass
The glass half empty mentality holds a lot of power. It’s easy to ignore the fact that our actions are often indicative of our attitudes. Low self esteem and self doubt trigger influential negative inner dialogue that talks you out of reaching for the things you deserve. Things like trying something new, asking for a promotion, giving a speech, being in a relationship and living your best life are all within reach.
As I mentioned, having the self awareness and just wanting to know how to change your mindset and attitude is a large component to making it happen. However that’s just the beginning, the saying “look on the bright side” should now have a whole new meaning.
2. Have Patience, the Rest will Follow
Anything worthwhile takes time, persistence and hard work. Changing your mindset doesn’t happen overnight, it requires implementing the tools and strategies on this page, especially mindfulness practice and a commitment to manifestation techniques. Just like any effective and result-oriented skill, a positive mindset and attitude must be repeated and practiced throughout the day. So it’s essential to maintain active awareness of the present moment and commitment to self growth.
There are several ways to effectively and quickly manifest change in your life. To change your mindset and achieve goals is a group effort. From the people in your life to the techniques that you implement. Just like most projects or a great recipe, there are all of these components that must contribute. So if you want to achieve your goals and truly own and live your best life now, patience and commitment are just as important as any of these other ingredients.
3. Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe
You know the saying your are the company you keep? An effective way to change your mindset and attitude is to surround yourself with positive energy and like-minded people. This means spending more time with optimistic people and less time with Negative Nellies. Seriously, a toxic relationship or hanging around a bunch of Danny Downers (okay enough of the clichés) is a surefire way to get nowhere fast.
So who are your “flat tire friends”?
It’s very important to spend time with people you trust have your back. Allow people in your life who have a resourceful and positive attitude so that they can help you out of any emotional ruts, share your goals or just simply add positivity to your day. Don’t forget to return the favor! It’s a well-know fact that spreading kindness does just as much if not more for the giver than the taker. It’s a win-win – being a trusted source of support and positivity to others will surely boomerang back to you in spades manifesting in to a super positive mindset and attitude.
4. Practice Positive Mindfulness Throughout the Day
So you’ve already conditioned and trained your brain with all of that negative self talk and vicious inner dialogue. Now what? It’s time to stop doubting and criticizing yourself (and others). Time for some exercise – daily practice.
It is time to do a serious 180 degree turn! This is decision time. It’s the moment you decide you are the one in control.
This may sound like corny “hey man, you got this!” talk. But it is more than that. It’s a scientific fact that purposeful positivity, in mind and physicality, helps to retrain the brain. Your mind and will are strong enough to help you overcome low self esteem and negative attitudes throughout your life. Commitment to mindfulness is one of the fastest and most effective manifestation techniques you can do! This all goes back to self-awareness.
So pay super close attention to what you think, when you’re thinking in a negative way (as well as positive) and how you manifest those thoughts into attitudes and behaviors.

6. Encompass a Goal-Oriented, Growth Mindset
While it’s important to remain present, meaning not living in the past or obsessing about the future, begin to change a complacent mindset by setting and striving for goals. Here are some thoughts around setting goals:
- Make sure your goals are realistic and achievable (this doesn’t mean not to aim high, whatever that means to you)
- Strategize how to achieve them. Make a plan! Research and get organized. If you do not take your goals seriously and plan accordingly you will not be equipped to achieve them – it’s simple math.
- Goals can be anything from getting in shape to saving up for a vacation, from volunteering for a cause close to your heart or going back to school to earn a degree.
- Maintain mental fortitude! Whatever your goals may be, keep a positive mindset especially when the going gets tough. Know that any worthwhile achievement will require the 3 Hs: homework, hard work and a healthy mental attitude.
- There are many manifestation techniques such as mindset mapping, vision boards and other programs mentioned here that are effective tools to keep you on your journey to success.
7. Want to Know How to Change Your Mindset and Attitude Fast?…clear throat…Practice Failure
What? Yes you’re still reading the right article. I know that sounds a little on the negative side but it certainly is not. To the contrary, here’s why it’s important for everyone to practice failure. Inevitability! Failure is inevitable so why run from it? Why be so terrified about it?! I promise you won’t melt from it.
Here’s a fun fact: studies show that those who failed regularly and kept trying anyway are better equipped to respond to challenges and setbacks in a constructive way. Those who fail LEARN (remember growth mindset?) how to try different strategies, ask others for advice and persevere.
Think about some of the greatest, most well-known first-time failures only to go on to succeed ad nauseam. Micheal Jordan, JK Rowling, the Wright Brothers, to name a few, all experienced failure multiple times, yet they did not give up. And what would our world be like if they had? So you really MUST OWN your failures just as you OWN your victories – for those are all of the stepping stones called resiliency. Owning failure and the lessons they teach are the cogs in the wheel to your changing mindset and attitude. Those are what push you along your bumpy journey to success!
8. Begin To Change Your Mindset … Say Action!
Changing your negative ways into a positive mindset and attitude is as easy as it gets….said no one ever! Of course it’s easier said than done. One of the best things you can do from the start is to incorporate proactive physical behavior.
- For the love of all things…Do Not Hit Snooze – think of hitting the snooze button as your first act of resistance to the day. When you force yourself up and adam you are instilling your first sense of accomplishment and positivity
- Routines – especially in the morning
- Start your day off with a positive attitude and action, such as making your bed, and repeat daily. The act of making your best is known as the world’s easiest success habit generally because it spurs a momentum of other productive habits.
- Strike a Pose and Stand Tall – every hear of the SuperMan or WonderWoman poses? Well studies have shown that when you adjust your posture not only to simply not slump (but hey start there if you need to) but strike a pose like a super hero and your body stance will send the positive message to your brain to manifest that positive mindset and attitude. I’ve practiced this technique in my office restroom just prior to a meeting or presentation and it does in fact work. So hey it can’t hurt – give it a try and let me know what happens!
- Exercise – is a proven way to change your mindset and attitude on a daily basis. It releases endorphins which boosts energy, self confidence and memory all while relieving stress.
- Read, Watch & Listen – Check out the multitude of self help books, videos and podcasts that focus on changing a negative outlook on life to a positive one. The possibilities are endless and there are so many specific programs and subtopics to research and benefit from. Check out these EXTREMELY different yet my favorite self help influencers: Eckhart Tolle, Tim Ferris, and Gary Vaynerchuk. Each has a wildly different personality and presence, yet they are extremely talented motivators in their own respective right. If you’re not familiar with one or more of them, please go check out all 3 and let me know what you think!
There are many quick and easy ways to manifest change in mindset and attitude. Just like taking your morning vitamins, start your day off on the best note possible with positive thoughts and affirmations. This mindset manifestation technique will carry over into your subconscious.
Fastest Results Require Self-Awareness
Let’s face it, when your high school teacher told you to come back to class the next day with an attitude adjustment, it was never going to happen. You likely couldn’t see past your need for immediate gratification and childish inability to control impulses.
Changing your mindset to become more productive and positive begins and ends with self awareness. By practicing mindfulness you will increasingly become aware of the negative talk, complacent attitudes or any of the other limiting mindset behaviors getting in your way of a happy, peaceful, abundant and successful life.
Where There’s a Will There’s a Way
Here are my three final thoughts about how you can change your mindset and attitude. When I look back on all of the advice and everything I’ve written, I notice an underlying set of core values. These are the most important things I want to stress:
First: Don’t give up! It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t feel the results right away. You may find it difficult to follow every step all the time. Follow your gut and always do what works best for you, when it works best for you and build upon that.
Second: Do not to be hard on yourself when your mindset falters and you find yourself doubting the ability to become a more positive and successful person.
Conscious ownership, self-assessment and awareness of the present moment need to be continuous. Be willing to take responsibility for your actions (or your inaction). This ties in to practicing mindfulness throughout the day and being able to cut off any negative inner dialogue or perceptions you may have and re-route those ideas to more objective and positive attitudes.
For example, let’s face it, sometimes we are stuck with some toxic personalities in life. So until you can leave the bad boss or distance yourself from that annoying relative, double-down on some of the other steps to help get you through. Remember you control your mind, no one else.
Finally: Pat yourself on the back each time you do see and feel the change of mindset and attitude manifesting. You deserve it because you are trying and owning your best at the process. That is all that anyone can do. I promise you will be rewarded with healthier relationships, a happier well-being and a more fulfilling, abundant life.
